What type of lien do you need?

Short Auto Lien - $65

A "short lien" is conducted on a vehicle if it is valued under $4000.

What is required?

• The vehicle is on your property.
• You fill out the Lien Submission Form or send us the information via email or snail mail. We need to have the information in writing. 
• We notify the interested parties and the DMV.
• We prepare your lien papers.
• You wait approximately 31 days until the lien clears. If no one claims the vehicle or stops the lien, then you can register the vehicle in your name, sell it or dispose of it some other way.

Boat Liens - $120

What You Need To Do:

• You call our office.
• We will need the name and addres of the person billed for storage/repairs.
• We send an application and fee to DMV.
• When we receive authorization from DMV, we notify interested parties 20 days before the sale.
• We place an ad in a newspaper 10 days before the sale.
• We send you the lien paperwork.
• On the sale date, you hold a live auction. 
  
• If no one bids, you are free to register the vessel in your name.

Long Lien - $105*

 A "long" lien is a lien on a more expensive or late model vehicle that is valued at more than $4000 or a vehicle that is stored at a storage facility no matter what the value. 

What is required:

• The vehicle is on your property.
• You fill out the Lien Submission Form or send us the information via email or snail mail.  
  
• Supply name and address of the customer billed or the owner.
• We pull the DMV records.
• We pay the fees and apply for authorization from DMV. (This can take 90-120 days.)
• We place legal ad in newspaper upon receiving DMV authorization.
• We prepare the lien papers.
• On the sale date, you hold a live auction.
  
• If someone is awarded the bid, you must hold the vehicle for 10 days before disposing of it or changing the title.
